Autumn Term 2024
PE-Tuesday and Thursday.
WC-14th October
WOW! What a lovely week to end our term. We did our final big write of the half term and published our poems called 'The River'. The children worked incredibly hard on these and came up with some very imaginative metaphors. In math we finished addition and subtraction. On our final day we enjoyed the Halloween disco and came to school in our fantastic costumes.
WC-7th October
On Friday 11th October we had a visit from Sleaford Museum. We learnt all about the history of Sleaford castle and even got to see photos of what it may have looked like. We learnt about King John, who came to Sleaford in 1216 but died shortly after. He had been king for 18 years and died at age 47. It was wonderful to hear the children share their knowledge with the musuem and how much they have enjoyed learning anout the history of Lincolnshire.
WC-30th September
This week we published our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory stories. They were so impressive and one of the children was choses to read theirs in front of the whole school!! In Maths we moved onto addition and subtraction and are getting really good at using our question stems.
WC-23rd September
We have had brilliant fun this week putting our handstands and cartwheels into a short routine. It was lovely to see all the groups confidently performing their routines to the whole class. In Geography, we have looked at food and where the food we eat comes from. It's interesting to see that some of our favourite food comes from all over the world.
WC-16th September
In Year 4 this week, we have really become engrossed in our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory writing. We have shared some lovely ideas and our class model is really coming together. In History we learnt about the Bass Maltings and it was really interesting to hear about some of Sleaford's heritage.
WC-9th September
This week we have jumped straight into our writing on Charlie and the Choclate Factory. The children have an incredible imagination and doing an amazing job in our chotting sessions. In Maths we have partitioned 4 digit numbers, using lots of manipulatives to support us. We saw some brilliant hand stands in PE and moving forward we will develop these into small sequences.
