Netball v Winchelsea

On Tuesday 14th November, the Church Lane Netball team travelled to Ruskington to play in their second Netball match of the league.

The team had a bit of a shaky start, with Winchelsea quickly dominating. They passed the ball well andwere able to score 6 goals in the first quarter. However, Church Lane started to communicate and play better as a team as the quarter progressed, scoring one goal before the whistle went.

The second quarter was much closer, Church Lane completing some excellent passing and making some great interceptions, but Winchelsea continued to play well. Both teams managed to score a goal each, making the half time score 7 v 2.

The third quarter saw Church Lane continue to improve their play with more opportunities to score. But it was Winchelsea who were able to net 2 goals to Church Lane's 1. 9 v 3 with one quarter left to play.

In the final quarter, Church Lane showed excellent determination. They were given the target of scoring another goal and were sucessful. However, Winchelsea also continued to play well and scored 4 more goals. Final score Winchelsea 13 v 4 Church Lane. Well done to all who played.

Netball v Rauceby

On Thursday 19th October, the Church Lane Netball team travelled to Rauceby to take part in their first Netball match of the year. For some children, this was the first time they had played a competitive Netball match, they all played really well and showed great improvements throughout the game.

I am extremely proud of well the children conducted themselves, even when the result didn't go our way! The next macth will be after half term against Winchelsea.

Football v William Alvey

On Tuesday 17th October, the Church Lane Football team played their first match of the year on the Church Lane Field of Dreams A.K.A the 3G Pitch!! The playing surface was fantastic and we had lovely weather for the occasion.

The opponents for this first match of many were William Alvey. The result didn't go our way, but well done to all who played! The next match will be after half term, away at Browns in Horbling.
